Ruxandra Lazarescu

LLB LLM Water Law

Combining her experience as a corporate lawyer with graduate studies in water law at the IHP-HELP Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science, Ruxandra founded dropbydrop to advise on the legal issues involved in sustainable water management. She has over 10 years experience working on the regulatory and operational aspects of investment funds, particularly in agribusiness where water is a key input risk. She focuses on the intersection of water, finance and governance, including tradable water rights, management of water as a business and financial risk across different industries, and the development of national water allocation policies.

Mohamad Mova Al 'Afghani

LLM PhD (c)

Mova is currently a PhD candidate at the IHP-HELP Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science, University of Dundee. Mova’s research focuses on governance and transparency in the regulation of water utilities. He is an active member of WaterLex, an international NGO formed in 2010 to promote access to water and sanitation as a fundamental human right. Mova has advised water service and privatization laws of Indonesia, and has published extensively on water law and water contracts in Indonesia. He is also a member of the International Water Association (IWA) Task Force on Stakeholders Engagement.

Ricardo Santos

Based on his business experience in his native Portugal, and that gained in Western Africa, Ricardo Santos provides operational support, focusing on financial management and logistics. He has a knowledge of the built environment and is experienced in the use of water in food and beverage production. Ricardo is currently completing an Advanced Diploma of Building design (Architectural).

Risa Subrata

Capable of navigating Melbourne as well as her native Jakarta, Risa Subrata is our CMO: chief marketing officer. Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesian, Risa is currently completing her Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing, at Monash University in Melbourne.

Asmae El-Idrissi

Asmae commenced her legal career with a focus on the management of intellectual property law in the European Union for household and niche e-businesses.  Asmae supports our team by providing expertise on the management of intellectual property rights in agriculture and water technologies.

Mohd. Jibriel Avessina

Jibriel holds a degree in anthropology, and his expertise is in ecological anthropology and social network analysis. Research conducted includes: adaptation options for Farmers to a Changing Climate in a Vulnerable Ecosystem, the socio-cultural aspect for geo-spatial research at Siberut, Kabupaten Mentawai West Sumatra, and on the labor force dilemma in central Borneo’s extractive industry.

Mohammad Aftaf Muhajir

Aftaf has a degree in Geography from Universitas Indonesia. He is a GIS Specialist and has applied GIS in water resources, mineral exploration and education. Proficient in spatial analysis, database design and implementation including GIS training, and GIS Implementation. He also specializes in the use/applications of remote sensing data.
